As I run into shortcuts or interesting observations I will try to keep this page updated with appropriate photos and descriptions. If I have a lot to say about the subject, I may blog about it.
This is a piece of black cherry (Prunus serotina) taken from a recently clear power line right-of-way in Marion County, West Virginia. I cut a rough blank with a hatchet and a folding saw. The knife shown is the PKS Kephart- more on it in the next photo description. The next two pictures show the spoon's progress.
